If a person has symptoms because of iron deficiency, then they have to take iron supplements. Iron can be given in the form of tablets, syrup, and injections.

Please complete the full course of Iron supplements as advised by your doctor. I have seen many patients not complete the course.

Once the Iron supplement course is completed, the person should consume Iron rich food in their daily diet.

Iron-rich food –

  • Dark green leafy vegetables
  • Nuts – almond, pista, walnut.
  • Dry fruits – dates, anjeer, black currant (raisins)
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Pulses – moong, rajma, tur etc.
